Student Success Statement
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed but that our power to do has increased.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

What Ralph Emerson is saying is the goal we’re trying to accomplish will get easier to accomplish over time. Not because its changing but because our persistence has made that goal seem easy. If you work hard enough even the most impossible tasks can, and will seem easy.

Student Success Statement
“I will persist until I succeed.”
-Og Mandino
What Og Mandno is saying is that he will try, and try, and try something until he succeeds in that certain thing. He will persist until he is the best at what he’s trying to accomplish. Persistence is a major key to success. You can’t succeed if you don’t try.

Student Success Statement
“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.”
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
-President Calvin Coolidge

I think that what president Coolidge is trying to say is that you could be the most talented, smartest, or most educated man on the planet but you’ll still be unsuccessful. You’ll be unsuccessful because it won’t matter how smart or talented you are because the only thing that will matter is how much persistence you show. Persistence is what will help you throughout your whole life, no matter how smart or talented or educated you are.

Student Success Statement
“Persistence can change failure into extraordinary achievement.”
-Matt Biondi

What I think this quote means is that it is possible to be a failure who later on becomes a champion. All you need is to show persistence and hard work. You cannot become a champion if you don’t show persistence; you’ll just stay a failure. Persistence is a key to success.
