Speech Pathologist

Duties and Responsibilities
Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Speech, language, and swallowing disorders result from a variety of causes, such as a stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, development delay, a cleft palate, cerebral palsy, or emotional problems.

Average Salary: $69,000

Educational Requirements
In order to become a speech pathologist you need a high school diploma or GED certificate. Many speech pathologists have a master’s degree. Then they must pass licensing.

Would you like to be one?
I wouldn’t want to be a speech pathologist because it doesn’t interest me.
