Licensed Practical
Nurse (LPN)
Duties and Responsibilities
The main
duties for licensed practical nurses are to provide basic care and assistance
for sick, injured, and disabled patients. They help patients by measuring vital signs,
collecting fluid samples, dressing wounds, maintaining patient records,
assisting patients with personal hygiene, etc. They will work while being
supervised by doctors or registered nurses.
Education
In order to
be a licensed practical nurse you need to have a high school diploma or a GED.
Next you must complete the training program. This’ll take about a year. And
finally you must pass the licensing exam in order to get your license.
Do you think you would like to be
one?
I wouldn't want to be licensed practical nurse because I think it’ll be more worthwhile to study to be a doctor.
