Duties and Responsibilities
Medical Illustrators work only in the medical field. They draw all the medical pictures in textbooks, journals, magazines, and films. They draw anything from microscopic germs to body parts. Some medical illustrators also use modeling skills to make artificial body parts.

Salary: $35,000- $50,000

Education
In order to become a medical illustrator you should major in art and minor in science. A majority of medical illustrators have a master’s degree. You also need to be certified in order to work as a medical illustrator.

Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities
Medical assistants are basically a doctor’s helper. They help them with many tasks whether they’re simple or complicated. They’re work also depends on whether they work in the front or back office. If they work in the front office they’ll basically do secretary work ordering supplies, greeting patients, handling patient records, etc. If they work in the back office they’ll escort patients, check blood pressure, take the patient’s medical history, etc.

Salary: $43,000

Education
In order to be a medical assistant you need to have training or become certified. Some medical assistants have an associate’s degree. The education requirements will vary depending on where you live.

Do you think you would like to be one?
I wouldn’t want to be a medical assistant because I would rather be a doctor. In my opinion it’ll be more worth it.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties for licensed practical nurses are to provide basic care and assistance for sick, injured, and disabled patients.  They help patients by measuring vital signs, collecting fluid samples, dressing wounds, maintaining patient records, assisting patients with personal hygiene, etc. They will work while being supervised by doctors or registered nurses.

Salary: $46,000

Education
In order to be a licensed practical nurse you need to have a high school diploma or a GED. Next you must complete the training program. This’ll take about a year. And finally you must pass the licensing exam in order to get your license.

Paul Bear Bryant is a former football player and former coach. He coached many teams including Alabama, Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Maryland. In his entire coaching career he won 6 national championships. He was given the nickname bear after he wrestled a bear when he was thirteen years old.

Duties and Responsibilities
Industrial hygienist makes sure that industrial and manufacturing plants are free of health and safety hazards. They make sure that the quality of air and water is clean.  They also make sure that the noise levels don’t pass the limit.  Their main goal though, is to keep the workers and workplace safe from all health hazards.

Salary: $64,000- $76,000

Education
In order to become an Industrial Hygienist you should have a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering. Only few companies require you to have master’s degree.

Home health aides take care of the elderly and disabled patients. They look over them in their home. They help their patients by helping them bathe, cleaning, cooking dinner for them, and other activities which the patient can’t do themselves.

Education
You need to have at least a high school diploma. You don’t need to get any college degree because you’ll receive on the job training. Starting your medical career off as a home health aide will help advance your medical career in the future.

Histology specialists prepare tissue samples that are used by physicians to determine if a patient has a disease, dysfunction, or malignancy. They prepare samples by using equipment to thinly slice tissue samples. Then they view the tissue sample under a microscope. In order to view specific structures they’ll stain the sample with different chemicals. Histology specialist work in hospitals, pharmacies, or research laboratories.

Educational Requirements
In order to become a histology specialist you must have a high school degree. You must also get an associate’s degree and complete one year of internship.

Physical therapists work with patients who are recovering from an accident. Physical therapists work with patients and try to improve their strength and mobility. They treat patients with exercise, light, heat, cold, water, electricity, ultrasounds, massage, etc. They work in hospitals, private offices, sports facilities, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, etc.

In order to be a physical therapist you must have a high school diploma and a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree and two to four years of professional education is also required.

Emergency Medical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities
An emergency medical technician responds to emergency situations. They also perform lifesaving techniques until a patient can be transported to a hospital or treatment facility. They also transfer injured patients to a hospital(s).

Education
You must have a high school diploma and complete EMT training. EMT training takes about 2-6 months.
There are three different levels of an Emergency medical technician. Each level has its own training. To become a basic EMT you must have a high school degree and finish EMT training. In order to become an Intermediate EMT you must complete 200- 400 EMT training hours. To become the most qualified level of an EMT (also known as a paramedic) you must complete over 1,000 or more hours of training.

Dialysis Technicians operate machines that remove waste and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer carry out those functions. Dialysis technicians are also referred to as renal dialysis technicians, hemodialysis technicians, or nephrology technicians. They work under the supervision of physicians, primarily in hospitals and clinics.
Dialysis technicians must fully understand the operation of the kidney dialysis machines. They are responsible for their operation, cleaning, and sterilization.
